What was the Shlieffen Plan?EASY POINTS.?

The Shlieffen Plan was the German strategy to win a two front war against France and Russia. Germany though that Russia's army would take six weeks to mobilize due to its large size. During those six weeks Germany would attack France through neutral Belgium, knocking out the French army with time to reach the Eastern Front before the Russian army was mobilized. France sought to counter Germany through attacking the Germany-France border believing that Germany would not invade a neutral country. Even though the Germans faced little resistance in the north of France, the Shlieffen Plan failed because Russia mobilized quicker than expected, forcing Germany to send troops to Russia before Germany had defeated France.
