I found a house sparrow that was unable to fly so I took it in, did i do the right thing?

i think it is a young bird, and I read on th internet that sometimes the chicks that come out of the nest for the1st time are unable to fly but should be left alone, but me not knowing this before i took the bird into my house and made it a comfy bed and just let it sleep but when i found out that it was a fledgling and should be left alone i put him back outside were i had found him, do you think he will be ok or will his parnets not find him?
